Tasks and rates

Pothos collects membership cards, event tickets, gift cards and coupons for AI training. Assignments cover individual items and research into platforms that issue cards or coupons for multiple brands.

02 · Check the fit

Requirements and project terms

Each category has its own open countries and languages. Check the remaining collection limits in our platform before starting.

Countries, languages and collection limits

Locale means country and language

French in Canada and French in France are different locales. The remaining requirement is tracked separately for each category and locale. A locale may be open for gift cards and closed for membership cards.

Merchant or vendor

The brand or business represented by the card, ticket or offer. The amount needed from any one merchant is limited.

Source platform

An app or service offering cards or coupons for multiple merchants. Collection from a single platform is limited. More items from that service do not make it a new source. Its availability is checked for the selected category and locale.

Fictional example: Example Platform offers cards for Brands A, B and C. That is one source platform and three merchants.

Previous collection counts towards the limits. A new batch or contributor does not reset them. Check the remaining limits before every collection round. Material beyond the available requirement is not accepted or paid.

Accepted codes and source platforms

Every card, ticket or coupon must have its own unique machine-readable code (QR, Code128, Code39, EAN-13, UPC, PDF417, Aztec, DataMatrix, ITF and other standard types).

A number or letter code on its own does not qualify. The code must belong to the item itself; a link to a website or marketing page does not qualify.

For a gift-card platform assignment, the service must generate the card codes itself for multiple merchants. A service that merely passes on merchant-issued codes does not qualify.

Devices and Apple Wallet

At least 90% of screenshots must come from iPhones. Up to 10% may come from other devices. This allowance also applies to Membership screenshots.

Apple Wallet captures are not accepted.

Images, catalogue and manifest

Images show the individual items or the examples collected from a source platform. Both individual-item and platform assignments require images.

The catalogue lists a source platform’s merchants and, for coupons, their offers. It requires research beyond collecting the sample images.

The manifest is the accompanying structured data file. Our platform creates it from the images and information you supply.

Our platform provides current availability, your agreed rate and the instructions for your assignment.
